Baby Fever

Today the family and I went to a close friends baby shower. Before heading to the shower we stopped by a children’s holiday party hosted by my company. It was such a wonderful time and the best part was everything was FREE! This time of the year is extremely tough and even more with the cost of living just kicking our asses. This event was filled with many children of all ages and there were so many activities you could see the fear and excitement in the adults eyes. I mean it is a company event and we all know kids can be RUTHLESS. Some things running through my head were; “Who’s kid is that? What department does that person work in? I hope my kid doesn’t hit anyone and shit nobody better hit my kid either.” Thats just the clean and short story of what was really going on in my head. It was nice to see children enjoy their childhood and see the innocence we all once had. There were little babies dressed up so darn cute and their reactions to different things just warmed my heart. It took me back to when my boys were babies and it just made me soak in the moment just a bit more. We did not stay too long as we had a baby shower party at the same time as this company event. Rushing to get as much done as possible and also grabbing food, we stayed for a little over an hour.

Pulling up to the baby shower really gave me butterflies in my stomach. I instantly remembered what it felt like when I had my baby showers. Seeing the decorations set up and the looks on everyone faces just made me think to myself “Self, do you think you want another baby?”. That wasn’t just it.. Seeing the beautiful new MOM and her bump really made me miss being pregnant. I honestly enjoyed both my pregnancies and am so thankful for that. It’s a different feeling and being able to grow a little human is such a blessing. I love hearing different stories. If you would like to share your story, please feel free to share. I am curious to read any stories and stories from someone who seen or experienced everything that did not carry.
